Transferring Files with Fetch (Macintosh)

The placement of your Web online site using Fetch is very simple. As you might have already guessed, it will be a three-click process.

  1. Select Remote > Put Folders and Files...

  2. A dialog box appears to allow you to locate the files to be uploaded.

Figure 8: Locate the files to be transferred.

  3. Select in the upper area of the dialog box the files or folders you wish to upload.

  4. Then click on the Add button to add the chosen elements to your transfer list.

  5. The selected files appear in the lower part of the window. Repeat the procedure until all of the site's files and folders are in your transfer list.

  6. Click on the Done button.

  7. The main window shows up again with some noticeable changes: the right part of the window informs you on the current status of the upload process and the Put Files... button is now inaccessible.

Once the whole transfer is terminated (the length of the procedure will depend on the connection and the size of the uploaded files), the list of the files stored on your hosting server is refreshed. It now encompasses all the additional files you just transferred.

Your site is now accessible to all. To convince yourself, enter your site's address into your browser's Address field ... and there you have it! Now that your site is online, it is time to let the entire world know that it exists. This is the task of the site submission process!
