Wap/WML : First WML Page

Special characters
Like HTML, WML does not lend itself very well to accentuated letters or, more generally, to all types of special characters.
If you write a sentence containing such characters and display it in a WAP emulator, you will immediately obtain an error
message such as:
The request could not be processed by the server due to invalid syntax.
Here is a table of the main conversions you can apply in your WML pages:

In practice, WML developers who insert special characters or accents in their pages are rare. For the sake of compatibility
with the various mobile devices found on the market, they simply prefer to omit them. But if you absolutely have to introduce
such characters, you should use the above-mentioned character references.
