WML

A new type of site also means a new language. In order to create your WAP sites, you must discover the secrets of WML (Wireless Markup Language). WML is a new presentation language that shares some similarities with HTML, except that it is stricter because it is based on XML (eXtented Markup Language).

Since WML was designed with the constraints of narrow-band devices in mind - for instance, small displays, limited input, reduced computation resources, etc. - its possibilities are also limited. In its latest version, this language only enables users to create a few pages, to make links between them, and to insert images in WBMP format. You should note that, in WAP jargon, documents are called decks, and decks contain cards.

The only knowledge required for creating WAP sites concerns WML. If you are familiar with HTML, you will have no difficulty in learning the dozen or so tags specific to this language.
