Search Engine Optimization : Moving on to website submission

The META Keywords Tag: Don't Forget All Its Possibilities
As with the META
description tag, the information inserted in your pages should, ideally, be different for each document. As we saw previously, you can
divide your website into zones and copy into the relevant pages a list of keywords specific to each zone.
In your list of keywords, don't forget the plural form (
dog,
dogs), the masculine/feminine form (
steward,
stewardess), and the various versions of certain words due to country specificity or different spellings (
color,
colour,
localisation,
localization). And you should aim to insert a dozen terms between each version of a word.
Example:
<meta name="keywords" content="steward, ..., stewards, ..., stewardess, ..., stewardesses, ...">
If you forget this spacing, your tag will possibly be perceived by certain search engines as a search result manipulation
attempt (
spamdexing) and your pages could consequently be rejected or poorly ranked.
And, last but not least, you could use separating characters between your words, for instance a comma, or a space, or a comma
immediately followed by a space. The result will be identical.
The right size. Never exceed 100 keywords or 1 000 characters (here, an accentuated HTML character is equivalent to about 8 characters) per
tag.
