Monitoring Feedback

Once your emails have been sent, do not forget them. Keep a copy of them, for two main reasons:

  • to be able to calculate the percentage of answers;

  • to avoid contacting the same webmaster several times within a short period of time.

This task is a bit tedious but it will permit you to optimise your link exchange scheme. For each website, keep the details ready to be used at any time: website name, address, subject, description, webmaster information (email, name, first name), date the email was sent, date of the reply and a miscellaneous section.

As soon as you have found partners, simply forward them your link together with a short description of your website, and possibly a logo, so that they can insert a reference to your website in a specific category or a page related to your website activity. If a reciprocal link is required, you will just have to repeat the process on your side.

In all cases, you should remember that all link exchanges have to be made according to the rule book. Neglecting your requests will lead to failures and unanswered emails. You should contact a webmaster personally if his/her website justifies it. Build up your partner cluster with targeted emails. Help to make the Web a better place to surf on and then your will radiate on the Web!
