Active Method

With this method, you have to take the first step and contact other websites to propose reciprocal links. Be methodical:

Use the relevant search tools to spot websites that address the same interests and concerns as your website. To do this, define a list of keywords related to your website content and issue queries based on them. Then find the addresses of the webmasters maintaining the selected websites and propose via e-mail that they exchange links with you.

Give preference to quality than to quantity! The quality of a link is measured through its potential traffic. The goal is primarily to attract an audience to your website. So it is better to have 10 quality links than 1000 poor links.

The location of the links is also important. Being represented on the homepage of a website of medium importance is more interesting than appearing on the sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-category of a highly frequented directory.

Before writing your e-mail, think about on the aspects of your website that could motivate other websites to link with yours. Define what makes your website different, the plus that could make it interesting to link to: content, a service or anything else that singles it out from your competitors. Attract the attention of complementary websites by emphasising this difference. This will ensure your presence on these websites that are potential avenues for your targeted audience.
