DHTML : Pages with customised scrollbars
Dr Benton

A layer combined with a customised scrollbar can serve as a substitute for the scrollbars used by standard browsers , but could also be used to produce a panorama from a series of photographs.

To implement this scrollbar, we need to apply the DHTML drag-and-drop technique. This technique can also be used for many other applications, such as small e-commerce or game programs. This workshop also introduces the notion of clipping, a technique used to hide part of a layer.

We have quite a lot to do, so hold on tight! But before starting, take a look at the result of our workshop. It will make you even more motivated than you already are!

Take it easy! To help you identify the instructions mentioned in our explanations, we refer to their line numbers. You can display the numbered version of our page's source code in another window, or even better, print it out.
