Style sheets : A newsthread: new formatting options

This article is the first of a series of two workshops that will gradually enable you to move from style sheets to DHTML. We will combine the CSS formatting properties and some lines of JavaScript to create the menu pointed to by the link below. Such a graphical component could be used to create a newsthread, a folder presentation or a home page.
In this first workshop, you will discover background patterns on layers and customised bulleted lists by using properties that are of great interest to webmasters. We will first set these properties to design the page. Next, we will animate the elements with a little JavaScript. But, be patient, we will do this in the next workshop.
