The Future

Due to the shortage of domain names, ICANN, the organisation that accredits the different companies entitled to sell domain names, has introduced seven new Top Level Domains:

Extension	Description
.biz	Commercial companies (relieve the existing .com).
.info	Information sites (open to everyone).
.name	Individuals.
.pro	Professionals.
.aero	Air transport industry.
.coop	Cooperatives.
.museum	Museums.

Currently, only .biz, .name and .info extensions are operational and already available from registrars accredited by the two organisations managing these TLDs: Neulevel and Afilias. The other extensions will soon be available.
