Dynamic Compression

Dynamic compression is a sound compression system used by FM radios. It improves the sound presence. One example is worth a thousand words, so listen to the two following excerpts:

To use this compression:

  1. Select Effects > Dynamics > Graphics.

    2. The Graphic Dynamics dialog box opens.

  2. Set the curve as follows:

Each piece of music has a specific sound. So change these settings until you obtain the best result.

Use it with moderation. This kind of treatment can easily alter the music. So do not overuse it and carefully listen to the changes it produces.
