Normalizing sound

It would be a shame if your visitors had to turn up the volume of their speakers just because your music is not powerful enough.

The next step in revitalising our sound is to increase the volume of our excerpt. This is the so-called normalization process, which consists of obtaining the maximum volume without saturation. For this, just three clicks suffice:

1. Select Process > Normalize.
   
   
The Normalize dialog box appears:


2. In the section labelled Normalize using, select the Peak Level radio button.
   
   
3. Set the slider on the left-hand side of the dialog box (Normalize to ...) to -3dB, then click on OK to validate.
