Emmanuel Deruty
Converting into mono
You want optimum sound but first you want to target surfers who use a standard modem? First piece of advice, forget the stereo.
But don't forget to convert your file into mono!
Which software should you use? All the tasks carried out in this workshop are done with SoundForge. You can obtain a demo version from the site of its publisher,
SonicFoundry.
To convert your music:
- Select File > Open and the music you want to work on.

- Select Process > Channel converter.

A window appears and asks you which changes you want to apply to your sound.
- Select Stereo to Mono - Use both channels (50%) in the Name drop-down list located on top of the dialog box, and click on
OK to validate your choice.
