Selecting the Samples

To create a piece of music, you must assign a sample to each of the eight tracks available. For this, you have to use the little square section on the top right-hand side of the interface.

  1. Click on the first box of the table, in the left column.

  2. A drop-down list appears with the different types of samples available.

  3. Release the mouse button on the sample type you want to assign to the first track.

  4. Click on the box of the right-hand column corresponding to your first selection.

  5. Select the sample you want to assign to the track as you did previously.

Now, all you have to do is to distribute the samples you want to all the tracks of the interface. To get a first idea of your creation, click on the Play button in the centre of the screen.

If what you hear is satisfactory, click on the Mark button on the left-hand side of the wheel. All your creations (called Groove in GrooveMaker jargon) are memorised and appear under a sequence number in one of the discs of the Groove menu.

Automatic music. You can have GrooveMaker itself choose the random grooves. For this, click on one of the four Randomix buttons on the top left-hand side of the interface. When you like an excerpt, click on Mark to add it to the list.
