Various Kinds of Animation for More Movements

Flash allows you to create different kinds of animation:

  • frame-by-frame animations;

  • movements along a defined axis (line, curve or rotation);

  • animations integrated into other animations.

These various possibilities can be combined to create sophisticated animations. For instance, you can animate a figure then displace it according to specific paths within your main animation; an animation within an animation, so to speak.

Another key feature of creating animations is scene cutting. It enables you to assemble different animation sequences to create a short movie, as a film director would do with his different shots.

It is this principle which permits the creation of interactive animations (in particular interactive games in Flash which are becoming ever more present on the Web): the scenes are concatenated and superimposed differently according to the visitors' actions.
