Flash : Updatable text fields

Creating the Text Fields
We will start by creating the three text fields that will display information: one for the date, one for the bulletin title,
and the third for the text body. We will proceed step by step:
- Select the Text tool in the tool palette.

- Activate the Text Field button at the bottom of the palette.

- Rename the layer 1 Texte.

- Position the three text fields in your movie.

As with standard texts, you can choose a font, a size and a colour for the field contents.
Now we will set the properties for each of these three fields:
- Select the first text field and display its properties by right-clicking and selecting the Properties option.

- Enter date in the Variable field.

- Deselect the Draw border and background checkbox.

- Activate the Disable editing option.

This option will prevent the visitor from changing the contents displayed.
Proceed in the same way for the other two text fields. Name the second field
title and the third
info. For this last one, don't forget to select the Multiline option.

The important features are contained in the three variables (
date,
title and
info) that we have just defined. We will revert to them shortly.
Aesthetics and Size. The font outline options in a text field properties window enable anti-aliased fonts to be included in the final movie. The
quality of the character display can then be improved but the file will also be bigger. So it is up to you to find the best
compromise between an aesthetic appearance and the loading speed.
