Variants

Try this effect by modifying the pattern layer mode and adjusting the thickness of the pattern lines. For instance, you can obtain the following result by using the Overlay mode:

If you want to modify the thickness of the lines, select Image > Image Size, while paying attention to the following options:

• Uncheck the Constrain Proportions box.
  
  
• Double the Height value in the Pixel dimensions area.
  
  
• Make sure that you have chosen the Nearest Neighbour option in the Resample Image box.
  
  
Your lines will be smooth if you maintain the default Bicubic setting.

To create a goffered fabric pattern, use two shades of blue instead of black and white when you create the pattern. After you have filled the layer with the pattern, using the Edit > Transform > Numeric command to rotate the pattern by 30°.
