Photoshop : Flying sheets

Ripples
We are going to use a single filter to distort our sheet and give it its flying aspect: Shear. This filter lets us apply a
specific curve to a layer and quite simply, too.
- Select Filter > Distort > Shear.

The Shear dialog box appears.

Figure 4: The Shear dialog box.
- Create an S-shaped curved line on the grid in the dialog box, then validate.

The main part of the distortion has been done. We are now going to slant the sheet using the rotate command, so as to obtain
a more beautiful effect.

Figure 5: The sheet ripples!
- Select Edit > Transform > Numeric and enter a value of 70° in the Rotate Angle area.

The orientation of the page is up to you. The text becomes more difficult to read on the rippling sheet the further you move
away from the horizontal axis.

Figure 6: About to take-off.
And there you have it, your sheet can fly! However, the result is not very realistic. But that is quite normal, as it lacks
a lot of depth and light!
