Applying Textures to a Photo

The textures we have created will produce can be applied to photos, for greater effect:

  1. Open the photo that you want to apply the texture on.

  2. Create a new layer on this photo.

  3. Create your texture (fabric or stone) on this new layer using the techniques described above.

  4. Set the mode for this layer to Overlay.

  5. Try another mode if you don't like this one. The Exclusion mode also produces some very pleasant results.

Oddly enough, a stone texture can give a crumpled paper aspect to a photo:
