Creating the Outline

The hardest part is over once your text is in place. Creating the outline around it only takes a few mouse clicks:

  1. Click on the Background in the Layers palette, then on the Create a new layer button.

  2. A new layer appears, just above the background layer.

  3. Select a foreground colour. This is going to be the colour of the outer outline.

  4. Select Edit > Stroke.

  5. The Stroke dialog box opens up.

  6. Select the option Inside and enter a value of your choice in the Width field. Validate the outline with the OK button.

  7. It is best to choose a width that is greater than 1, otherwise your outline will be too fine.
