Positioning and Highlighting Text

Step 1: you are going to create the text around which you are going to position the outline.

  1. Create an image and place any word you want in it.

  2. Click on the type layer that you have just created by keeping the Ctrl key pressed (Cmd on the Macintosh).

  3. You obtain a new selection that follows the text outline on which you are now going to work.

  4. Choose Select > Modify > Expand.

  5. The Expand selection dialog box appears.

  6. Specify a value between 3 and 16, depending on the size of the outline you want to create.

  7. The selection has expanded around the text.

Avoid holes! Delete any "inner" selections that do not always produce the best effect. To do so, select the Lasso tool and then, while keeping the Shift key pressed, wrap it around the areas inside the letters that have not been selected.
