A Layer For the Button

Unless you are quite happy with a plain white background, you now need to give a little colour to your button. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Layers tab in order to display the Layers palette. Then click on the Background layer.

  2. Click on the new layer button.



  3. Figure 4: New layers can be created by clicking on the Create a new layer button.

  4. Click on the set foreground colour square on the tools palette and choose a colour from the Select colour menu.

  6. Hold down the Alt-Del keys (Windows) or Opt-Backspace (Mac) keys to fill the layer with the foreground colour.

The button is starting to take shape, but it is still rather flat ...
