Advantages and disadvantages

Nothing is perfect, and digital cameras have advantages and disadvantages. If you are hesitating between digital technology and traditional silver technology, here are a few points to consider.

Disadvantages include the price! Choosing digital is not merely limited to buying the camera. You will probably need additional memory cards, photo touch-up software and photographic quality printer. Another problem with digital technology: energy consumption. While a traditional camera only requires two or three batteries, a digital camera needs its battery recharged regularly. Its electronic components, particularly the LCD screen, consume alot of energy.

On the other hand, digital cameras have many advantages for those who work on the Web. Their electronic architecture means your photos are immediately available after you take them, with no waiting for development. They also let you transfer your images from the camera to your computer without needing to use a scanner. Finally, storing your photos either on disk or CD-Rom is easy, with each photo being stored as a computer file.
