Paint Shop Pro : Silhouetting using the Freehand tool

For Perfect Integration in Your Web Pages
Provided that the image is in GIF format, you can give it a transparent background, so that it merges perfectly into your
Web pages.
The transparency colour must not appear anywhere else in the object, otherwise you will obtain a really bad effect (a headlight
or a reflection would allow the Web page background to be seen, which would be really awful). That's why you have to be careful
with your choice.
RGB values If you have a doubt about the values of a colour, move the Dropper tool cursor over the zones to be examined. The precise
RGB code of the colour directly above that of the Dropper tool is displayed in real time in the Colours palette.
In the case of the car, which does not contain any traces of white, we are going to use the 100% white (RGB code= 255,255,255)
that we used for the silhouetting.
- Click on Colours, Set Palette Transparency.

- Check the Set the transparency value to the current background colour option.

- Click on the Proof button.

A grey and white grid appears in the transparent zones.
Make sure that there are no transparent zones on the car. Use a stronger zoom if need be.

Figure 7: Check that none of the zones are transparent
- Click on OK to accept the transparency colour, then save the image.

Figure 8 shows the silhouetting used on a Web page. The image merges perfectly into the page background thanks to transparency.
