Saving the HTML File

At the beginning of the workshop we said that creating imagemaps does not affect the graphics of an image in any way. It is simply a question of adding information to the image in an HTML file for the purpose of creating links. A few precautions need to be taken when saving these files:

  1. Click on the Save As button, on the bottom left of the dialog box. Windows' standard Save dialog box appears.

  2. Paint Shop Pro only saves the HTML file containing the links, it does not touch the image itself.

  3. Select a destination folder, then click on Save.

  4. Choose the place where you want to save your image.

  5. Paint Shop Pro will use this information to establish the path for accessing the image in the HTML code.

Clipboard. Using the same principle, Paint Shop Pro 7 can copy your HTML code onto the Clipboard so that it can be used again immediately. All you have to do is specify the name of the folder that contains the page that is to receive the code, in addition to the name of the folder containing the image.

And there you have it, you have created your imagemap. Now all that remains is to integrate the code obtained (on the Clipboard or in a file) onto the final page.
