Paint Shop Pro : Pro-class silhouetting with masks

Extracting complex objects from your images can often be quite a headache. The magic wand is of little use and the freehand tool is often long and rather tricky to use. So what do the Pros do? They use masks!

The mask technique comes to us directly from the photo labs. To silhouette an object, the photographer takes a copy of the negative and covers up the parts that are not to be exposed with an opaque gouache. This is how we are going to silhouette our image.
