Setting the Colour and Density of the Shadow

Now that you have a "flipped version" of the image, you can adjust the colours to give it a shadowy appearance:

  1. Select the copy of the image if necessary.

  2. Select Colours > Adjust > Hue/Saturation/Lightness).

  3. The corresponding dialog box appears.

  4. Adjust the settings that will define the drop shadow's appearance:

  5. - Set the saturation cursor to -100, so as to eliminate the colour.

    - Adjust the lightness setting to obtain the desired shadow density.

    Coloured shadows. Only modify the saturation percentage slightly if you want a shadow that is the same colour as the object.

  6. Slide the flipped selection against the original text. If necessary, leave a space of one pixel between the two images.
