Re-drawing the Parasol

You may have to recreate the parasol. This stage requires that you have a good eye, because you have to place the sample reticule exactly on the upper or lower edge of the parasol, and then click on the exact area where this edge should be when cloning takes place.

  1. Reduce the Size to 7 pixels in the Tool Options palette.

  2. Click on the edge of the parasol.

  3. If the tip of the parasol is not well placed, click again to correct it, or start sampling again from scratch.

Figure 4: Rebuilding an object, the parasol behind the post in this case, is always a delicate process.

You can move on to the other elements in the image when you have finished with the parasol. Replace the Green Citroen 2CV, behind the Bentley, with the hotel's hedge. Do the same for the other cars parked in front. Figure 5 shows the cleaned-up image. Only the important elements - the Bentley, the façade of the Grand Hotel (the one at Cabourg, where Marcel Proust used to stay) and the hotel patrons sitting at the tables have been kept.

Figure 5: This photo only shows the important thing: the Bentley in front of the hotel!
