Oriented Tiles

To produce an oriented tiling effect, you can create a narrow tile stretched upwards or sideways. A horizontally-shaped tile fills the browser window from top to bottom, and a vertically-shaped tile fills it from left to right.

So, by using a horizontal pattern, you can obtain right and left borders with a blurred outline, as shown below:

Conversely, a vertically-shaped tile fills the screen horizontally when it is loaded. You can create spectacular effects by superimposing other images and typographical characters on a simple tile:
