Legibility
To achieve efficient communication, your Web pages must be read in the way you expect. Here are some examples of colours used
as tools for implementing different levels of importance or as a visual hierarchy in your images.
If you want your site logo to be the main element of the page, follow the example on the left-hand side. The logo's legibility
has been increased by using colours: it is visually more important than the links. Conversely, if you want your links to stand
out more, you should give them more saturated colours than the logo (see example on right-hand side).
Here is a very important exercise to practise with your home page. Identify the elements that must be read first, second,
third, etc. Then, armed with this classification, you can apply the colour principles you have learnt in order to meet your
communication goals.
